Velocity Release Date Confirmed

FuturLab have announced the release date(s) for their upcoming PS3/PSP/PSVita shootemup, Velocity. In Europe, Playstation Plus subscribers get the game on May 2nd and the proles get it on May 16th. The American PS Plus release is on May 1st and the general release is on May 15th.

I'm so excited for the release of this game that I'm genuinely considering signing up for Playstation Plus to get it a few days earlier than everybody else. This is also a good excuse for me to link to my interview with James Marsden of FuturLab again. You can see the trailer below.

I Kill Zombies Release Date Revealed

Previous interviewees Open Emotion Studios have set a release date for their upcoming zombie scrapper, I Kill Zombies. The game will be hitting European PlayStation Stores on April 4th, with a North American date yet to be announced. The game looks pretty good, as are their previous releases. Not too much to add really, other than it's one to get hyped for. Here's a screenshot.

hermitgames announce new project - impossible to pronounce, impossible to define.

Leave Home creator Matt James, aka hermitgames, has revealed his new game. It's called 'qrth-phyl' and, according to the hermitgames website is an 'Arcade documentary of maze/dot/snake mechanic within changing dimensions, axis locks and the corruption of the system'. In our pre-reveal interview, he also said that 'It's less of an obvious genre game than Leave Home' and that he's deliberately made the game more 'difficult and awkward' than LH. My first impressions are that it sounds utterly bewildering, and that Matt James must really hate money, however coming from the guy who made Leave Home a certain quality of presentation and gameplay polish is guaranteed. He's released some screenshots too, three of which you can see below.

Massive sale at GAME.

Yet more negative omens. UK retailer GAME have launched a massive pre-owned sale, both on their website and in store. This may not seem news-worthy, however they are shifting their old stock for literally pennies in some cases, and there are some great bargains to be had. I bought Resistance 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 for £2.98 and £0.48 respectively, with free delivery from their site, which seems like a pretty great deal. Other highlights include Gears of War 2 for £1.98, Bulletstorm for £2.98 and Fallout 3 for £1.98.

It's time for us all to start buying stuff at GAME.

High street game retailer GAME have been in trouble for some time, but things seem to have become especially bad for them recently. In the past few weeks there have been a number of omens that present a bleak future for GAME, a future they may not survive.
