Capsized developers, Alientrap have released the first two screenshots for their upcoming game, Apotheon. The game is still early in development, and both release date and final platforms are yet to be finalised, but a PC release is confirmed. Anyway, the main buzz about the game is coming from the distinct visual style.

Nagoshi: "In the future it will just be PCs and mobile phones".
In a recent interview, Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi has said that he believes that dedicated gaming consoles are on borowed time, and that the future of gaming lies solely with PCs and mobile phones. He was also quoted as saying that "the main market will become portable games" and that "eventually mobiles will become just as powerful as games consoles."

I've Played a PSVita
I had a little go on someone's PSVita today. I literally played for no more than 10 minutes, but I got a nice feel for it, and now I can write stuff about my impressions. Brilliant.

Grip Games Triple Pack released - one of the best deals ever.
I've banged on about the quality of Grip's output here previously, and they were the first to participate in our indie devleloper interview series. I now love them even more, as they've released three of their games in one bundle for a mere £1.99 via the PlayStation Store! The bundle includes 5-in-1 Arcade Hits, a fairly uninspiring but competent collection of mini-games, MiniSquadron, an addictive 2D flight combat game with tonnes of stuff to do and unlock, and One Epic Game, a chock-full-of-content platformer that fully lives up to it's name. Obviously MiniSquadron and One Epic Game are the ones to get excited about, but 5-in-1 Arcade Hits isn't a bad bonus. Together, these games will eat up hours of your time, and provide you with some of the best fun you can have on PSP and PS3.
Not bad for two quid.

10 PS2 games we want to see on PSN.
A recent PS3 update has brought PS2 classics to the PlayStation Store, making our heads spin with excitement. With such a large back-catalogue of quality PS2 games, the potential for this is huge once it kicks off and the major publishers get involved. Here are the games that myself and Jerrod would most like to see make a PS3 appearance.

PS Vita and Wii U: Will They Succeed?
Both Sony’s new handheld and Nintendo’s Wii successor are released this year. I have talked about my feelings on the two systems previously on the 4th podcast - I am looking forward to the release of PS Vita, but fairly apathetic towards the Wii U. Here I will expand on this, assess both sides of the argument and consider how both consoles will fare in their equally competitive markets.

Indie Developer Interview Number 4: FuturLab
Blimey, the 4th in the series! I have to be honest, when I first had this idea I though it was extremely unlikely I would get any developers to agree to answer my questions, so I would like to thank every developer so far who has taken part in this series. This time I contacted James Marsden, Managing Director of FuturLab, creators of critically-acclaimed PlayStation mini and iOS game, Coconut Dodge!
