Paul Turbett of Black Lab Games, creator of Star Hammer Tactics, has announced via Twitter that Black Lab Games is soon going to be a thing of the past, and that Star Hammer is going to be removed from all storefronts - Xbox Live, Desura, IndieCity, iOS and the Playstation Store. When asked to comment on the reasoning behind his decision, he replied with a simple and heartbreaking "nobody bought my game :(".
The fall of Black Lab Games is a real tragedy, as Star Hammer Tactics is a really awesome game. Paul's story is a cautionary tale to new developers hoping to develop for iOS, as Star Hammer Tactics was simply crowded out of the market due to the crowded nature of the AppStore, and struggled to gain any exposure. It is an issue touched upon in my interview with him a while ago, in which he revealed that the Playstation minis version of the game was by far the most successful.
The game has already been removed from the iOS AppStore and the European Playstation Store. If you're quick, you can snag a copy via Desura, IndieCity, Xbox Live Indie Games and the US Playstation Store, but not for much longer. R.I.P Black Lab Games.
