Grip Games,
friends of Games Shrine, have announced their new game. It's called Foosball 2012, and is a table football game coming to the PlayStation Store for PS3 and PS Vita. According to the
official website, 'Foosball 2012 brings an unparalleled level of connectivity between PS3™ and PS®Vita, supporting cross play, gameplay continuation and offering both the PS3™ and PS®Vita versions together, for a price of a single game.' The game is compatible with PlayStation Move, and uses 'the innovative features of PS®Vita, like rear touch pad and accelerometer-powered controls.'
As much as I like football, and am occasionally partial to a bit of table football, the concept didn't fill me with glee until I saw the trailer.
Now I'm completely sold. I was surprised how much freedom of control the game seemingly gives the player, with deft touches and intricate passes on display. The gameplay footage looks like it retains the chaotic excitement of actual table football, whilst simultaneously offering a level of control that cannot be matched in real life.
The game is set for a Spring 2012 release.
